I hate how people (espcially young people) tend to think that they are in love so quickly. How the words “babe” “sweetie” “hunny” and the like come up the second you claim each other. I watch my friends who get into relationships and it’s always the same. They rush their feelings, and begin to say things they regret later. They tell me how that person is more special than anyone they have ever met, they just gush and gush. I know I’m jaded, and not a believer in love, but it just seems too fast and too foolish for my tastes.
It’s rather off putting too, every facebook or tumblr post being something along the lines of
“babe is sooo sweet, he/she did this and that for me, gosh I have never felt this way about anyone before, s/he is my morning noon and night”
or “I love how we can talk on the phone for hours, and then I love to hear you sleep” It’s no longer cute, in fact it’s rather pathetic actually.
Especially since as I always predict, those relationships crash and burn within a year. Guess they weren’t that special hrmm?
When you find true love you’ll know. You won’t have to be all public about it.
But in the meantime guard your heart. Stop giving it out to everyone you see so quickly. and STOP saying I love you sooo damn much.
All you little immature kiddies are making that wonderful four letter word lose it’s meaning.
